Police investigating man's shooting death in Durham

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in Durham.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Thursday afternoon in Durham.

Police spokeswoman Kammie Michael said officers were called around 3:30 p.m. to the 900 block of East Main Street, where they found Marquise Keshawn Mangum, 18, of Durham, who had been shot lying in a breezeway of a multi-residential building.

Mangum was taken to a local hospital, where he died, Michael said. No other information about the case was provided.

No one has been arrested, and authorities are asking that anyone with information about the shooting to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 29332, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
