Decomposing bodies found inside Fayetteville home
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities on Tuesday identified two women who were found dead inside their Fayetteville home last week.

Officers responded to a home in the 5500 block of Aberdeen Place on Thursday to perform a well-being check after neighbors became concerned when they didn't see the people who lived in the home for several days.

Authorities said two dead bodies in a state of decomposition were found inside the home.

Police identified the women found inside as Mary Belle Poole, 72, and Amy Poole Davidson, 50.

Neighbors said the pair were a mother and daughter and that Davidson suffered from cerebral palsy.

Autopsies performed by the Chief Medical Examiner found no apparent signs of foul play surrounding the deaths of the women, police said.

Neighbors last week said they believed that heat played a factor in the death of the women, who did not have a working air conditioner.
