Police ID man found on Mount Olive roadway

Police said Santos Anton Lopez, 42, of 104 Dotsie Drive in Eureka, fell out of the front passenger door of a white SUV in the 1000 block of North Breazeale Avenue Friday morning.

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Mount Olive Police are looking for a suspect in the death of Santos Anton Lopez.

Witnesses told police they saw Lopez fall from a moving sport-utility vehicle on Breazeale Avenue on Friday.

Police said Lopez, 42, of 104 Dotsie Drive in Eureka, fell out of the front passenger door of a white SUV in the 1000 block of North Breazeale Avenue, near the Roses shopping center shortly before 11 a.m.

EMS workers transported Lopez to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he died. He had sustained what appeared to be gunshot wounds, police said.
