Police: Former UNC student robs third bank while out on bond
A Chapel Hill man who was out on bond in connection with two bank robberies in November is accused of robbing a third bank earlier this month, police said Tuesday.

Gordon Miller Goodwin, 22, was arrested by a Federal Bureau of Investigation task force in Wake County last Friday. He was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and is being held under a $200,000 bond at the Wake County jail.
Chapel Hill police say Goodwin, wearing a yellow traffic vest, surgical face mask and red bandanna, walked into the Suntrust Bank inside the Harris Teeter at 1800 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. on May 19 and passed the teller a note demanding money. Goodwin then fled in a dark-colored vehicle.
At the time of the crime, he was out on bond on two common-law robbery charges from November. Police say that Goodwin, who was a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill at the time, robbed a Suntrust Bank in Youngsville on Nov. 3 and Suntrust Bank in Apex on Nov. 7.
He surrendered on those charges Nov. 13 in Atlantic City, N.J., after his mother made a televised plea for him to turn himself over to authorities.
