The son of Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine was arrested a week ago on drunken driving charges, police said.
Posted — UpdatedFAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The son of Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine was arrested a week ago on drunken driving charges, police said.
Joseph Michael Bergamine, 18, was charged with driving while impaired, reckless driving and hit-and-run following a July 14 wreck on Arnish Court in Fayetteville, police said.
A wood-framed flower bed was hit by a car, and the driver didn't stop, police said.
Joseph Bergamine's blood-alcohol content was 0.13 several hours after the wreck, police said. The legal limit of intoxication in North Carolina is 0.08.
