A North Carolina boy was shot in the head at his grandfather's home in Thomasville. The boy's grandfather has been charged with failing to properly secure a firearm to protect a minor.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina boy was shot in the head at his grandfather's home in Thomasville. The boy's grandfather has been charged with failing to properly secure a firearm to protect a minor.
The 12-year-old was hospitalized and in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
He was airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Medical Center, according to a report from WXII.
Victor Scott Clampitt, 59, was at work at the time of the shooting. He turned himself in to the police on Wednesday and was being held at a local jail under a $10,000 bond.
