There's nothing fancy at Cedar Hills Park in north Raleigh. The playground is newer, built in 2008. You'll find swings, slides, monkey bars, picnic tables and sand.

You'll also find shade, a critical element during our hot, North Carolina summers. Tall trees help keep most, though not all, of the playground cooler in the summer months. So I thought I'd give you a look at this park, which sits off Millbrook Road.

Cedar Hills Park also has tennis courts and restrooms next to the playground, outdoor basketball courts, a softball field and a Frisbee golf course, which provides lots of open space for kids to explore (just watch out for Frisbees!).

There are two entrances to this park. If you're looking for the playground, be sure to take the Sweetbriar Street entrance. Sweetbriar dead ends at the park's parking lot. The other entrance is off Spring Forest Road.

For a closer look at this park, watch the video. Find Cedar Hills Park at 5600 Sweetbriar St., Raleigh.
