RALEIGH, N.C. — A Planned Parenthood Votes! event in Raleigh was postponed Saturday after a reported threat to safety.

In a tweet, Planned Parenthood South Atlantic NC said the event would be postponed until it can find a venue where it can ensure a safe and secure experience for everyone.

The organization also cites recent events across the country as another reason for the postponement.

"Our top priority is the safety and security of our patients, staff, supporters, and communities," read one of the tweets. "We look forward to hosting the amazing lineup of musicians and artists as soon as possible."

The Raleigh Police Department told WRAL News it takes all threats seriously and will be investigating.
