Pizza Hut Reopens After Infestation
A Pizza Hut restaurant that was closed Tuesday by health inspectors reopened Thursday after an infestation of mice was cleared out, officials said.

The Wake County Health Department closed the Pizza Hut at 3691 New Bern Ave. Tuesday morning after six live mice were found stuck on glue-covered boards left out overnight. A health inspector on Monday noted rodent droppings inside the restaurant and told managers to address the problem.
"The Wake County Health Department says it’s perfectly safe to eat in the restaurant and has given it a clean bill of health," Pizza Hut spokesman Chris Fuller said. "This restaurant has never experienced a similar incident, and we’ve taken immediate corrective action to make sure it sure it never happens again. We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience and are committed to providing a safe and clean dining experience.”
The employee who found the mice Tuesday and called the health department said she was fired after the incident.
