GREENVILLE, N.C. — A Pitt County deputy has been kicked off the force for violating ethical standards, officials said.

Lt. Michelle Pollard, the head of the Pitt County Sheriff's Office anti-gang unit, is accused of smoking marijuana and taking part in a wet T-shirt contest where she took off her shirt.

Pollard has denied the drug allegations and said she doesn't recall the wet T-shirt contest, noting someone drugged her beer while she was in a local bar.

Pollard also was the focus of a civil lawsuit in the death of her husband, Stacey, who was found in the couple's pool in 2007. A judge recently threw out the case.
