The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<b>PINE LEVEL</b> — A Pine Level commissioner lost his house to fire Saturday morning, fire officials said.<br />

Jimmy Garner’s house at 109 Fitzgerald St. was destroyed, said Johnston County Fire Marshall Matt Chestnut. No people were injured, but several animals died in the fire. One dog did escape, Chestnut said. <br />

The call came in at 9:36 a.m. and four fire departments responded. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
