<b>CARY, N.C.</b> — Repairs to a gas leak kept part of Penny Road in Cary closed through late Sunday morning.

Police said a driver hit a gas pipe on Penny Road and drove away. The leak was discovered shortly before 3 a.m.

Police closed Penny Road from Kildaire Farm Road to Kingsford Drive and detoured traffic onto Ten-Ten Road while crews dug up part of the road to fix the pipe.

Police have not found the vehicle or driver who hit the gas pipe.
