RALEIGH, N.C. — A 19-year-old man was hit by a vehicle Friday around 3:30 p.m. while crossing Pecan Road, near South Wilmington Street, in Raleigh, police said.

Authorities said Deshune Ronrices Bennett Jr., of 7620 Huey Court, entered the road between two buses before being hit by a vehicle traveling west on Pecan Street.

Officials said driver Ashley Lauren Adorian, 25, was unable to reduce speed and did not see Bennett due to an obstructed view.

Adorian was charged with driving with a revoked license, according to the police report.

Bennett Jr. was transported to WakeMed Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
