Pedestrian, hit, killed along Holloway Street in Durham
A pedestrian was hit and killed early Sunday near the intersection of Junction Road and Holloway Street in Durham, authorities said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed early Sunday near the intersection of Junction Road and Holloway Street in Durham, authorities said.
According to police, Jose Luis De Lara, 44, of Naples Place, was walking south on Holloway Street at about 4 a.m. when he was hit by a Chrysler Town and Country driven by Ryan Keith Hanes, 30, of Durham.
De Lara was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Hanes was not injured in the crash.
No charges have been filed against the driver, and speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
