Pedestrian hit by bus in Chapel Hill

A pedestrian was struck by a Chapel Hill Transit bus Monday near UNC. Details on the cause of the collision and the condition of the person hit were not immediately available.

Police are on the scene of a bus accident near UNC campus
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A Chapel Hill Transit bus struck a pedestrian near the campus of the University of North Carolina late Monday afternoon.

Campus and town police responded to the wreck at Mason Farm Road and South Columbia Street around 4:15 p.m.

The pedestrian, whose identity was withheld, was being treated at UNC Hospitals that night, police said.

Police did not release more details on the cause of the collision and the condition of the victim.
