Park Review: Veterans Park in Holly Springs

Veterans Park in Holly Springs isn't a large park. But it does include a small playground, a fitness station and paved trails.

By most measures, Veterans Park in Holly Springs isn't a large park. But it could provide a pleasant place for a bike ride or jog, mixed in with some playground time and a stop at the park's outdoor fitness stations.

The park, which is dedicated to the men and women who served our country, opened in 2009 and includes a small, shaded playground with the usual features, including slides and climbing pieces.

There is a 4.3-acre pond with a half mile paved trail around it. And, at one point, there is a collection of fitness stations with information on health and some simple exercise equipment.

A paved trail also connects to Jones Park, which is about a half mile away, Holly Springs parks staff tells me.
