Parents travel 1,700 miles for child's 'liquid miracle'

We were contacted by a local father about doing a medical marijuana story involving children with epilepsy. Turns out, this story is not about the kind of marijuana most people envision. It involves a new strain of marijuana that apparently doesn’t get you “high."

What makes the oil extract a big issue – it’s not legal in the Tar Heel State. As a result, North Carolina families who say they’ve exhausted all other options in dealing with this debilitating disorder are now moving to places like Colorado where it is legal.

We felt the only way to really do this story was to go to Colorado and learn for ourselves what this is all about. What we discovered is simply amazing.

We spoke with the people growing this new marijuana strain, and we met up with a Raleigh mother who recently moved out there for the sole purpose of obtaining this marijuana extract for her daughter.
