Panel finds no wrongdoing by ex-Taylortown mayor
A state panel has determined that allegations of wrongdoing by the former mayor of a small Moore County town were without merit.

Ulysses S.G. Barrett Jr. was accused of acting as a general contractor without a license. Taylortown's current mayor, Jesse Fuller, filed a complaint with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors, contending that Barrett contracted with the town for more than $30,000 of work without having the necessary license.
The state board recently cleared Barrett in the case.
Barrett, who still serves on the Town Council, also was cleared in March of three misdemeanor charges against him. The charges stemmed from his work to refurbish a house the town owns so it could be used for after-school programs.
