Pair convicted in Wilson bank robbery
Two Washington, D.C., men have been convicted of robbing a Wilson bank last fall, authorities said Wednesday.

A federal court jury on Monday found Robert Earl Mays and Paris Cordava Williams guilty of bank robbery and aiding and abetting. Williams also was found guilty of possession of a firearm by a felon.
Prosecutors said Mays, Williams and Ricky Franks robbed a PNC Bank branch at 3401 Raleigh Road Parkway in Wilson on Nov. 13. Franks vaulted the teller counter and took approximately $1,579 from a teller’s drawer, grabbing a GPS tracking device in the process, prosecutors said.
Franks and Williams then hid with the money in the trunk of a car Franks has rented in Washington, and Mays drove the car a short distance away, prosecutors said. Wilson police were alerted to the robbery and to the tracking device, which had become stationary on Raleigh Road, and searches of cars in a stopped line of traffic near the bank turned up Franks and Williams in a car trunk with a bag of money and a firearm, prosecutors said.
Franks pleaded guilty to bank robbery and possession of firearm by a felon before his co-defendants' trial.
All three men will be sentenced later.
