OXFORD, N.C. — An Oxford man was sentenced in federal court Wednesday to nearly 16 years in prison for robbing a bank last year.

James Robert Lisenby, 56, was ordered to serve 15 years and eight months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Thomas G. Walker.

Lisenby also was ordered to pay $1,643 in restitution to SunTrust Bank.

Lisenby pleaded guilty to robbing the bank in Oxford on Jan. 17, 2012. Investigators said he was wearing a ski mask and gloves when he walked into the bank carrying what appeared to be a firearm sticking out of his pocket. He demanded money from four tellers and then fled on foot.
