<b>HILLSBOROUGH, N.C.</b> — The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting near Hillsborough Tuesday evening that sent one person to the hospital.

The victim, whose name and condition were not released, was taken to Duke University Hospital in Durham.

Deputies said the shooting happened shortly before 7 p.m. on N.C. Highway 86 near Interstate 85.
