One suspect in Fayetteville jewelry store robbery arrested

Police have arrested one of the men sought in the armed robbery of a Fayetteville jewelry store last month.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police have arrested one of the men sought in the armed robbery of a Fayetteville jewelry store last month.

Officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Topeka Street and Seabrook Road on Saturday, and a passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.

After a brief chase, Charles Boone III, 18, was apprehended. He was wanted on charges of felony conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into occupied property, breaking and entering and resisting an officer.

Police said Boone, Chrishawn Johnson, 16, and two other unidentified people entered the Gold Factory, at 5075 Morganton Road, on Dec. 23 and shot and wounded the owner during a robbery.
