KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A man was shot early Thursday during an altercation at a delivery business in Knightdale, police said.

Officers responded to ADL Delivery, at 520 Hinton Oaks Blvd., shortly before 9 a.m. and found Darric McKayhan, 45, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Witnesses told investigators that McKayhan and the gunman were speaking to each other prior to the shooting and appeared to know one another, police said.

Police have identified Christopher Reives, 27, of Raleigh, as the gunman, and he surrendered to investigators Thursday afternoon and was being questioned.

Police have recovered a gun believed to have been used in the shooting and are conferring with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office on the appropriate charges to file in the case.

McKayhan was stabilized at WakeMed, and police said his wounds aren't life-threatening.
