One killed in Orange County crash
One person was killed Sunday morning in a crash on N.C. Highway 54 in Orange County, authorities said.

The wreck occurred at N.C. Highway 54 near White Cross Road at about 9:15 a.m when Ava Thompson, 86, of Chapel Hill failed to yield before turning out of a service station, according to authorities.
Thompson's 2004 Honda Accord hit a 2012 Fiat, driven by Guy DeGent, 54, of Greensboro. Thompson died at the scene and DeGent was taken to a hospital where he was listed in stable condition, authorities said.
The road was closed for about an hour following the crash.
