GARNER, N.C. — One woman died Monday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 70 Business in Garner, police said.

An eastbound box truck hit a disabled Honda Accord sitting in the highway from behind, killing the Accord's driver, Lenae Mary Rebecca Dew of Raleigh, police said.

The truck then crossed the median into the westbound lanes, hitting a Toyota RAV 4 and a Honda Pilot, police said.

The driver of the RAV 4, Lisa Michelle Kohl of Clayton, was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Pilot, Dorothy Smith Best of Pikeville, and her passenger, Ann Mewborn Smith of Goldsboro, suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital, police said.

The driver of the box truck, Eric Adams of Raleigh, wasn't injured.

U.S. 70 Business was blocked off between Interstate 40 and Greenfield Parkway for several hours while Garner police and the State Highway Patrol investigated the crash and cleared the wreckage from the highway.

The crash remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
