One person died in an accident on the site of General Shale plant in Corinth on Saturday.

<b>CORINTH</b> — One person died in an accident on the site of General Shale plant in Corinth on Saturday.

A piece of heavy equipment fell on the victim around 10:30 a.m. at the plant at 300 Brick Plant Road, according to the Chatham County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office has not released many details but did confirm that the accident occurred on-site at the plant. Officials would not say if the victim was a General Shale employee.
