Woman dead following fatal I-495 wreck in Raleigh

One woman has died following a single-car wreck that occurred early Sunday morning.

RALEIGH, N.C. — One woman died in a single-car crash that occurred early Sunday morning.

According to the Raleigh Police Department, 48-year-old Tracy Chappell Curtner, of Raleigh, lost control of her car around 1:20 a.m. while exiting Interstate-495 southbound.

Curtner drove off the ramp at Exit 420 for South New Hope Road and was ejected from her car.​

According to officials, the car struck a ditch and several trees. Curtner died as a result of her injuries.
