One charged, two sought in McDonald's robbery in Goldsboro
A sharp-eyed Wayne County sheriff's deputy pulled over a suspicious car early Monday and discovered the occupants were suspects in a violent robbery at a McDonald's.

Goldsboro police responded to a hold-up alarm at the McDonald’s on N.C. Highway 70 West shortly after 1 a.m. Two men armed with a handgun entered through one of the drive-through windows while a third man stayed outside.
The robbers demanded money and forced a manager and another employee into the office. Police said they men pistol-whipped the manager before fleeing.
The sheriff’s deputy stopped the car about a quarter-mile away from the restaurant and arrested one of the occupants. William Earl Warren Jr., 25, was charged with two counts of first-degree kidnapping, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was held in the Wayne County jail under a $255,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday.
Warrants have been issued for Joseph Simms, 25, of the 100 block of Wharton Drive in Goldsboro. Police said he is armed and dangerous.
Investigators are also trying to determine the identity of the third man involved in the robbery.
