FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police arrested one man and are seeking another who robbed a First Citizens Bank on Monday.

Witnesses said the two suspects entered the bank, at 3604 Ramsey St., wearing Halloween masks at about 2 p.m. They waved guns and demanded money, then made a getaway in a two-door, burgundy sedan.

Police spotted a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle near Smith Lake and gave chase. Officers saw two men jump from the car carrying bags and run into the woods.

They caught Larry Rodgers Jr., 29, at about 7 p.m. hiding behind a house on Fort Bragg. According to police, Rodgers, who is homeless, is a repeat offender with a history of robbery and assault charges dating to the late 1990s.

Police were continuing to search for a second suspect, Rodney Antawan Brown, 29, of 1943 Harris St. They said Brown may have red dye on his fingers as a result of a dye pack included with the cash he stole.

Police asked that anyone with information on where Brown might be call Det. Suggs at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Both men face charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and second-degree kidnapping.
