A 52-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with an assault on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus, officials said.

<b>CHAPEL HILL, N.C.</b> — A 52-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday in connection with an assault on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus, officials said.

According to police, Rickie Donnel White forced a female student into a practice room in the basement Hill Hall at about 11 p.m. 

The student was not hurt in the incident. 

White was taken into custody shortly after the university sent out a crime alert to students. He was charged with assault on a female. 

Campus officials sent an "all clear" message to students at about 12:40 a.m., saying it was safe to resume normal activities.
