Officials seek fifth suspect in Dudley man's murder; 4 others arrested

With four people already in custody, Wayne County officials are looking for a fifth person related to the fatal shooting of a Dudley man in January.

DUDLEY, N.C. — With four people already in custody, Wayne County officials are looking for a fifth person related to the fatal shooting of a Dudley man in January.

Carlos Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, was shot and killed in his home at 159 Sleepy Creek Road on Jan. 9, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. A second person, Alfredo Garcias, 25, of the same address, was also shot but is recovering after being treated at two hospitals.

The sheriff's office issued warrants for Billy Renaldo Hamm, 44, of 912 N. John St., Goldsboro. Hamm is charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

In the weeks since the murder, officials charged and arrested four people in connection to the murder. Those charged are:

– Jennele Lea Howard Wall, 35, of room 8, Carolina Motel, 2316 N. William St., Goldsboro. Wall was charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, attempted armed robbery and first degree burglary. She was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center with no bond.

– Montrell Demontrio Allen, 41, of 104 Jessica Place, Goldsboro, surrendered to authorities on Jan. 18. Allen was charged with first degree burglary and two counts of attempted armed robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was given a $300,000 secured bond.

– Darius Lamar Chestnut, 35, of 907 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro, turned himself in to authorities on Feb. 1. Chestnut was charged with first degree burglary and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon. He was given a $300,000 secured bond.

– Jerry Aundrey Parks, 41, of 912 N. John St., Goldsboro, was connected to the murder after being arrested on unrelated charges. Authorities identified Parks as a person spotted on a surveillance camera near the scene of the murder. Parks was charged with first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, first degree burglary and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, and he is being held without bond.
