RALEIGH, N.C. — A body found in Falls Lake on Saturday has been identified as a Butner man who went missing five days earlier after being thrown from his boat, officials said.

Claude Woodrow Weaver Jr. has been missing since April 18 after falling from his boat during a fishing trip. Tammy Oakley Albright, of Durham, was also thrown from the boat, but nearby boaters were able to get her to safety.

Sam Craft, a spokesman for the N.C. Division of Wildlife, said it appears Weaver's boat hit the wake of another vessel and both Weaver and Albright were thrown overboard. The boat continued to circle around the water, striking Weaver.

Other boaters were eventually able to get to the circling boat to kill the engine.

Divers and emergency personnel with cadaver dogs searched the lake on and off since Weaver went missing.
