Officer charged in Raleigh wreck

According to the wreck report the police vehicle was traveling east on Fox Road when it crossed the center line into the other lane hitting the civilian vehicle.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Three people were injured Thursday night in a head-on collision involving an unmarked police car and a civilian vehicle, police said.

The wreck occurred in the 7300 block of Fox Road around 9 p.m., officers said.

The two officers, Thomas Patrick Kennedy and James Franklin Gheen, and civilian Ericka Denise Osborne were injured, police said. All three were transported to Wake Med with non life-threatening injuries.

Kennedy, 28, was charged with speeding. Both officers were given a seatbelt violation.
