RALEIGH, N.C. — We didn't think the Midtown Farmers Farmers Market could get any yummier, then we heard about what they are cooking up this Saturday.
Five chefs from the shopping area's restaurants will be facing off in an Iron Chef-like challenge. The competitors are Coquette Brasserie's Beth LittleJohn, CowFish's Ryan Stewart, Flights at the Renaissance's Anthony Zinani, Mia Francesca's Zachary VanGaasbeek and The Q-Shack's Rodney Llyod.

The challenge starts at 9 a.m. and runs until 11:30 a.m. in the commons area at North Hills.

Chefs will find out their "secret ingredients" at 9 a.m. then have just 20 minutes to shop the market for additional supplies.

Each chef will create two courses and will be judged in two categories - best presentation and best overall. I am one of the judges this year, so let's hope for a great secret ingredient!

Twenty-five market patrons will be picked to weigh in on the second course! Their votes will also help determine the "People's Choice" award.

Courses should be ready to judge around 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Make sure to stop by and say hi!
