No injuries after shots fired at Kinston High School

The Kinston Department of Public Safety said that authorities responded to the school at about 2:45 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired.

KINSTON, N.C. — No injuries were reported after shots were fired at Kinston High School Tuesday afternoon.

The Kinston Department of Public Safety said that authorities responded to the school at about 2:45 p.m. in response to a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, authorities said several shell casings were found in a parking lot at the school. No vehicles were damaged.

Authorities said that students were allowed to leave campus, since dismissal was already in progress and the building was not placed on lock-down.
