Wednesday's weather will warm up after freeze warning
More than 60 North Carolina counties were under freeze watches and warnings until 9 a.m. Wednesday. After that, residents can expect a warm-up with temperatures reaching the upper 50s to low 60s.

Once the sun got up, temperatures began working their way toward highs expected to be in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, windy and warmer than Tuesday.
However, Thursday will cool down again as high temperatures dip slightly to the mid-50s. The wind is expected to die down some on Thursday.
"(Cold) temperatures are the big story today and will be for the rest of the work week," said WRAL Meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. "Once we've hit (32 degrees), we won't see any more freeze warnings issued."
Forecasters expect that once a freeze happens, people are aware of the possibility.
Some relief from colder temperatures lurks at the end of the week. The forecast highs jump into the upper 60s and low 70s for Saturday and Sunday.
