New McCrory ad: "Fix"

In a new 60-second spot, the Republican candidate for governor says "politics" is inhibiting North Carolina's economic growth.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Pat McCrory's campaign for governor will start running a 60-second campaign spot across the state tomorrow.

Although the Republican, who is running against Democrat Walter Dalton, has had other ads on the air before, this appears to mark something a milestone for the campaign. According to information gathered from television station public files in the Raleigh market, the GOP candidate has reserved time on local stations from Tuesday through Election Day.

Dalton does not appear to have reserved broadcast air time in the Raleigh market yet.

This new McCrory ad begins running Tuesday and will stay on the air for at least a week, according to a McCrory campaign spokesman. Like one of its predecessors, it features McCrory walking through an empty factory space. In it, he says North Carolina's "economic troubles could be behind us." He then asks why the state is still struggling:

"Politics. Concern about who gets the credit for good things, or the blame for bad things. Here’s a thought, let’s forget about politics for a while and think about us. That’s what we tried when I was mayor."

McCrory is the former Mayor of Charlotte.
