Colt Brake, 16, crushed his C4 vertebra and fractured his C5 vertebra, injuring his spinal cord, during a football game in October against Parrott Academy. He had no feeling from his neck down immediately after the injury, but regained some feeling in his hands a few days later.

He was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville before being transferred to a spinal cord injury rehabilitation program at Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

On Wednesday, he'll return home.
