Couple claims harassment by bogus online ads

Under the heading, "Please Take My Kids, Unemployed and Starving," the ad included a picture of two boys and a message from someone claiming to be their parent. According to the post, the family was being evicted, and the parent planned to hitchhike to Florida and needed to "give (the children) to a nice family."

Chris Abram was listed as the contact on the ad, but he said Monday that its contents are false.

Abram said one of the boys pictured is his son, and the other is his nephew.

"I did not post this ad. This is actually one picture that I have on my Facebook page," said Abram's wife, Annette Abram.

The couple said they were shocked when they started getting calls about the ad involving their 4-year-old son, but they said they have an idea who might have posted the ad.

"We've had this one person targeting my husband for quite a while now," Annette Abram said, noting that someone has posted several phony craigslist ads with their contact information.

Chris Abram said the fake ads started showing up about five months ago after he came into contact with a potential buyer on craigslist. He said he believes that person is responsible for the fake ads, but he said he doesn't know what the motive would be because there was no conflict or dispute in their initial interaction.

The Abrams said they would never give their son away, and they want whoever is responsible for the bogus ads to stop.
