RALEIGH, N.C. — Back-to-school shopping doesn’t have to take a huge chunk out of the family budget.

The Goodwill store, at 7941 Skyland Ridge Parkway in Raleigh, offers designer jeans, summer shirts and fall jackets for prices lower than retail. Childrens and pre-teen sizes are sold for $2.59 each.

“It’s all here and it’s all one, set price. We don’t up-charge for name-brand items,” Goodwill store manager Megan Mitchell said.

Eillen Postrk, a mother of three, went shopping at Goodwill on Friday. She found a shirt for her 6-year-old daughter for under $3.

Postrk said she liked the quality of items at the store. “They have no idea if it’s been worn before. You wash it - it's new, it’s fine,” she said.

Mitchell said new items are being stocked everyday.

Goodwill also has backpacks for $1.99, athletic shoes for $2.29 and clothing for teens for $3.39.

Purchases at Goodwill stores help fund its mission to provide jobs and job training to people with disabilities and disadvantages.
