RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested three suspects Thursday in connection with a robbery that ended with a police cruiser riddled with bullet holes.

There were no reports of injuries.

Raleigh police said the three suspects fled SunTrust Bank, at 5135 New Hope Road, around 11:30 a.m. in a black SUV and led police Sgt. Brian Allen on a pursuit on and off Interstate 440 and Capital Boulevard before jumping out of the vehicle at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Yonker's Road.

Chief Harry Dolan said Thursday afternoon that the suspects "took several rounds" into the vehicle and that the SUV also struck four other vehicles during the pursuit.

Allen continued the pursuit, despite the bullet holes in his vehicle, Dolan said and was there to arrest two of the suspects who jumped from the SUV.

The third suspect fled on foot. Officers found him about two hours later lying face down in the weeds of a nearby greenway.

Curtis Leon McCutchen, 47, of 1624 Hyman Drive, Manning, S.C., is charged with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, hit and run, felony speeding to elude and careless and reckless driving. He also faces a series of speeding and red light violation charges.

The assault with a dangerous weapon charges stem from the vehicle ramming three other vehicles that were occupied.

David Jenkins, 42, of 119 Alvin Court, Latta, S.C., is charged with attempted murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The last suspect arrested was Bryan Jamar Singletary, 26, of Lake City, S.C., who is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon.

At one point, as many as a dozen police cars were spotted near Hodges Street and Capital Boulevard, and southbound Capital Boulevard was closed in the area.

Dolan said Allen acted courageously in his pursuit of the suspects.
