Raleigh police looking for dead 60-year-old woman's missing car

Officers found the body of Patsy Eason Barefoot, 60, inside her apartment after a relative reported being unable to contact her. Neither the manner nor the cause of death has been determined. Her silver 2002 Ford Focus, license plate RNY-5847, is missing.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman found in her apartment at 3939-133 Wake Forest Road Saturday.

Officers made a welfare check and found the body of Patsy Eason Barefoot around 10 a.m. after a family member reported being unable to contact her. Neither the manner nor the cause of death has been determined.

Authorities said a vehicle owned by Barefoot was not at the apartment complex when officers arrived, and the department is requesting public’s assistance to locate it.

The vehicle is a silver 2002 Ford Focus with N.C. license plate RNY-5847.

Anyone who has information concerning the location of the car or other information that might assist the investigation of the case is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department’s Detective Division at 919-996-3555 or Raleigh Crime Stoppers at 919-834-HELP.
