Some of the storms moving through the state early Friday could bring damaging winds and tornadoes.
Thursday started off foggy. Cloudy skies and drizzle should persist throughout the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 60s.
"You can see rain rolling into South Carolina, so it's knocking on our door," Gardner said. "As we get through the day, expect scattered showers."
The weekend should bring some welcome relief with sunny skies and temperatures reaching the mid 70s.
"The weekend looks very nice," Gardner said. "(However), there will be a big cool down by the middle of next week."
