Local church prays for economy
In response to tough economic times, St. Marks United Methodist Church in Raleigh started the midweek prayer service “Tuesdays for Troubled Times.”
Posted — UpdatedFor the past four months, the small group has met every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. to pray for things to get better.
“I live every day not knowing if I’ll have my house in six months. You just don’t know. So, I just pray about it and do the best I can,” Barbour said.
Williams said he recently "paid $650 worth of utility bills" for church members.
“In the midst of all that news, we need to offer a word of hope and a word to this community that while some of those things may be crashing, God is not. And God is ever present and we’re going to be a people of hope," he said.
