HALIFAX, N.C. — Halifax County sheriff's deputies Saturday captured a man wanted for murder in New York City. Jermaine Wilson, 35, of Brooklyn, N.Y., is being held without bond in the Halifax County jail.

Deputies on patrol in Weldon grew suspicious when two men on an all-terrain vehicle reversed course to avoid them. The deputies gave chase, ultimately stopping four vehicles and four men.

When they could not verify the identity of one of the men, deputies took him to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office for fingerprinting. The suspect then told deputies that he was wanted for murder in New York.

"You got me," they said he told them. "My name is Jermaine Wilson and my nickname is Wimp."

Wilson, known by a street name of "Wimp the Pimp," was featured on an episode of the crime show "America's Most Wanted" in September 2008. He is alleged to have killed a criminal associate after an argument over bills for a vehicle they shared.
