Jarret Satchell, 18, was driving east on Purnell Road around 12:49 a.m. on Oct. 12 when his vehicle went off the pavement near Wolverton Fields Drive.
His vehicle became airborne, struck a pole, ran into a ditch and hit two trees before it overturned and came to a stop, authorities said.

Troopers said that alcohol was involved in the wreck. Satchell's father, Mark, was charged Wednesday with four counts of allowing minors to drink alcohol, authorities said.

Satchell was a 2008 graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School, where he played soccer, and had been home for fall break from East Carolina University.
