PRINCETON, N.C. — Two people were killed in a fiery wreck Wednesday evening in Johnston County.

It happened at about 8:30 p.m. on Fellowship Church Road, not far from Princeton Kenly Road, near Princeton.

A 17-year-old was driving a green Saturn northbound when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a red Jeep, the state Highway Patrol said.

Two passengers in the Saturn, a 17-year-old and a 21-year-old were killed, troopers said. The Saturn's 17-year-old driver and another teen passenger were injured, as was the Jeep's 80-year-old driver.

A helicopter and two ambulances transported the injured to a hospital.

Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, troopers said.

The names of those involved in the accident were withheld.

The two passengers killed had attended Princeton High School, according to troopers and a pastor on the scene.
