North Raleigh Gas Leak
RALEIGH, N.C. — Twelve residences in the area of McAdams Drive and Greywood Drive in North Raleigh were temporarily evacuated Wedneday morning after a vehicle crashed into a house and hit a gas line.

PSNC Energy spokeswoman Angela Townsend said a car struck the gas meter at 3521 Greywood Drive and that crews were able to cap the leak nearly an hour later at 11:30 a.m. Gas was restored to the house by 3:45 p.m.

There were no reports of injuries, Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue said.

Residents were not allowed back into their homes until fire officials were able to verify that the homes did not contain gas fumes.
