2 Now Face Murder Charges in Durham Assault

Police said two men involved in a Sept. 18 assault in Durham now face murder charges.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police said two men involved in a Sept. 18 assault in Durham now face murder charges.

Dallas Latae Kelly, 36, was found beaten on Washington Street near West Club Boulevard, authorities said. Kelly had been hospitalized with severe head injuries, but he died on Saturday.

Police said robbery is believed to have been the motive for the attack.

Last week, Durham police arrested James Anthony Macaluso, 38, of Junction Road, at the Granville County Jail. He was originally charged with assault inflicting serious injury in the case.

Police are still looking for Robyn Dukes, 29, of Chalk Level Road. He is described as a black male, measuring 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.
