Fan: 'It Was the First Time I Actually Cried at a Football Game'

Posted — UpdatedANN ARBOR, MICH. — One day after Appalachian State pulled off one of the biggest upsets in college football, the feat was the talk of the sports world.
The Mountaineers knocked off No. 5 Michigan after blocking a field goal attempt in the final seconds of the game to ice the win.
Many of the fans who went to the game got back into town Sunday, and they were still celebrating.
“It was the first time I actually cried at a football game,” said Laura Aiken.
Laura’s husband, Ben Aiken, was just as enthusiastic about the win.
“Your jaw dropped,” he said. “I guess that’s the best way to describe it."
For the Aiken family, this was more than just a win. They said it brings national exposure to the university where they graduated 10 years ago. Laura was a football trainer at ASU and Ben played football under Coach Jerry Moore.
“He was really a genuine man who teaches more than the game of football,” Ben said.
